An Elegant Building in Historic Galata | Meroddi Bağdatlıyan Hotel
Bağdatlıyan Residence
One of the early examples of Western-style multi-storey apartments in Istanbul, the Bağdatlıyan Residence was built between 1895 and 1905. The building takes its name from its first owner, Ohannes Bağdatlıyan, who served as director of the Bureau of Nationalities at the Ottoman Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Faithfully restored in 2014 in keeping with its historic elegance, the Bağdatlıyan Residence opened its doors as a stylish boutique hotel in February 2015.
